One notable downside is that the head does not automatically reset to a forward-facing position when oscillation stops, so you may need to reposition it manually afterward.
The fan includes an infrared remote control that handles power, speed, oscillation, mode, and timer adjustments. Because it uses infrared, it requires a direct line of sight to function, and the receiver is located near the base of the pole rather than at the fan head, meaning you should point the remote at roughly waist height rather than up at the fan itself. Anything blocking that line of sight, such as furniture or standing at an angle, will cause the remote to respond intermittently.
